Central Park

In the late eighteenth century the park was a private deer park belonging to Tunnard House, Number 20 Wide Bargate. Park Lea is situated opposite Central Park, the park was purchased in 1919, and is now one of the focal points of the town where many people and families enjoy the open space.

The park opens in the summer at 7.30 AM and closes at 8.30 PM and in the winter it opens at 7.30 AM and closes 30 mins before sunset.

There are two tennis courts in the park where anyone wishing to play can pay £3 (per hour) to the park manager.

The park holds a number of events throughout the year. In mid July Central Park comes host for one of the towns biggest parties, Party In the Park.
